The Carl Curtis School opened its doors for the first time on Monday, September 21, 1925, at 8008 Beverly Boulevard, in West Hollywood, two blocks west of Fairfax. The graceful, stuccoed building of so-called “Moorish” style was a thoroughly modern, carefully planned, and well-appointed facility. Among the school’s many amenities were
  • A gymnasium, with a stage, mirrored wall, and recessed electric piano, and thoroughly equipped with all modern apparatus, especially built to conform to the child

  • A tiled, indoor swimming pool, heated and equipped with latest filtration and vacuum cleaning systems
  • Spacious locker and shower rooms
  • A club room for the Leaders’ Club, swimming club and other organizations
  • Academic school rooms, constructed and equipped according to the best educational authorities
  • A sanitary kitchen, business office, and lavish reception room
