Steve Hall - DK Teacher
DESTINATION: ITALY & SLOVENIA
This is my 25th year at Curtis School. I received my Masters' degree, with an emphasis in Child Development, from Pepperdine School of Education. In April, I will attend the International Study Group of the Reggio Emilia approach to education in Reggio Emilia, Italy. During the six-day event, we will explore the town of Reggio Emilia, its community and its social, cultural and educational context. I will be attending presentations by pedagogistas, atelieristas and teachers about the principles of the educational project of the Preschools and Infant-toddler Centres Istituzione of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia. Our study group will also visit the Preschools and Infant-Toddler Centers as an example of visible learning. Afterwards, I am traveling to Slovenia to see the Postojna Caves and Lake Bled. My hope is that meeting with Reggio Emilia facilitators from around the world will inspire me to rethink my current teaching practices and to create a richer classroom environment.
