Congratulations to the Cougar Swim Team on a fantastic showing at the San Fernando Valley Private School League finals! Our girls won first place overall in the SFVPSL Girls Division and our boys captured second place overall in the Boys Division.
The meet at Viewpoint School capped an exciting season in the pool for our swimmers. Over 40 swimmers came out on the weekend to represent Curtis at the finals, which had been postponed from the previous week due to the Getty and other local fires that affected air quality and accessibility for the League's teams.
Swim Team is a hugely popular extracurricular sport for our students in grades 4-6, and this year the team swelled to 70 athletes. Meeting after school several days a week in the fall, our swimmers put in many hours in the Curtis pool, perfecting their stokes, turns, race starts and finishes, building endurance and setting personal goals that made our team such a competitive one.
We are extremely proud of each of our swimmers for their time commitment and work effort and for representing our school so well, both as athletes and in their comportment at meets and practices.
