    Dear Curtis Families,
    For the past few weeks, in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage month, our 6th graders have been leading flag in both Spanish and English. The notion of having bilingual flag assemblies was once just an aspiration for the school, and now it is a reality. What a wonderful evolution to watch in the life of our school. Along with celebrating National Hispanic Heritage month, this year, in partnership with the Parents Association, we will be using flag as a way to share more of our community’s identity and heritage. Last week, a few of our students shared their family traditions and practices around the Jewish holidays. Next month, we will have a sharing and celebration of Diwali. These moments for the community to be together to celebrate our heritage and identities are yet one more way to strengthen and emphasize our school value “Embrace Diversity.”
