Lego Robotics

The Curtis Cougars Robotics Team is a highly popular extracurricular activity that is open to interested 5th and 6th Graders.
The Curtis team participates in local First Lego League competition in the fall and practice takes place at lunch time and after school shortly after the beginning of the academic year. Practice and qualifying tournaments are held at area schools on two weekends, and teams that qualify advance to the championship tournament that takes place in late fall.

First LEGO League (FLL) is a robotics program for Elementary and Middle School grades that challenges students to build and program LEGO robots to complete prescribed missions. In the course of planning, testing, practicing for tournaments and competing, participants develop critical-thinking, problem-solving, team-building and presentation skills. The Curtis Cougars Robotics Team is a valuable introduction to robotics that also provides a foundation for those who may wish to pursue this high-energy mental sport in middle school and beyond.
