About the Curtis Parents Association

The Curtis Parents Association is composed of the dedicated parents at Curtis School. The Parents Association works closely and cooperates with the administration and faculty of the school to provide activities, programs and events that benefit the school. The PA is an essential part of the Curtis community, but it remains separate and apart from the academic and administrative functions of the school. It is chartered by the Curtis School Board of Trustees under the rules and regulation governing non-profit organizations set forth in the Internal Revenue Service codes. A key part of the PA's mission is to assist in the school's social and cultural activities. Some of the many programs that serve this part of the PA's mission include the Curtis Fair, Book Spree, Hot Lunch, Spring Event, Adult and Children's Enrichment, Community Service and more. The PA assists with fundraising for the school. Through many volunteer hours, hard work and a variety of exciting projects, the PA is able to raise significant funds while building community spirit at the same time. The PA works with the administration to allocate the funds raised for various projects which enhance the school and its community.

The Parents Association encourages involvement of the entire Curtis parent body. Each Curtis parent is welcome to be an active part of the organization. Parents are given opportunities to lend their talents and whatever time they have to give. Parents Association meetings are held monthly - either the first or second Wednesday of each month in the Ahmanson Auditorium at 8:30 a.m.
