Academic Program

Curtis offers a traditional academic curriculum while adapting new advances in technology and teaching methods.

Our goal is to inspire a love of learning in all of our students that will motivate them to reach their highest academic potential in the years to follow Curtis. We prepare our students for some of the most rigorous secondary schools in Los Angeles where Curtis graduates consistently succeed.

As a family school, we accept children with a variety of learning styles, requiring a corresponding diversity of teaching methods in order for effective learning to occur for all. Curtis teachers are devoted to developing the potential of every child, and we take great pride in the quality and commitment of our faculty and academic staff.

Our Lower Elementary, grades DK-2, fosters the young child's natural curiosity and love of learning. We also believe in the importance of nurturing a child's emotional and social growth as a foundation for intellectual development.

In our Upper Elementary, grades 3-6, we encourage the increasing independence of our students, while recognizing the value of a self-contained, nurturing environment.
