4th - 8th Grade Sports Awards
Fred Perry
The Fred Perry Award is presented to the outstanding athlete who:
- is a multi-sport athlete and exhibits a high quality athletic skill.
- demonstrates the finest qualities as a sports person and has the passion of a competitor.
- by word and/ or action raises the level of play of team mates.
Butch Gross
The Butch Gross Award is presented to the athlete who demonstrates courage in spirit and is an inspiration to all.
Sports Person Award
The sports person of the year is awarded to one boy and girl in each grade who, through actions and words, best reflects the ideas of sportsmanship during practices and games to teammates, coaches, opponents, officials and all adults
Decathlon Award
The Decathlon Award is presented to a boy and girl in each grade who accumulates the most points in different fitness and athletic events.
The events are: the 6 fitness events plus these additional events: the 100 yd dash, basketball shoot, and the softball throw.
The points are based on the students performance within the class. The highest or best score in each event receives the most points. Only the top ten scores in each event receives points.
