Middle School Athletics

Curtis takes pride in the quality physical education program it offers daily to children.

Skill development

  • Girls practice the skills necessary to compete in an after school league in basketball, soccer, track/field and volleyball
  • Boys practice the skills necessary to compete in an after school league in flag football, basketball, track/field, soccer and baseball

Effort and Participation

  • Practice and play in games at a competitive level which allows determination and consistency of effort
  • Demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with teammates in team sports
  • Listen and follow directions well
  • Demonstrate self-control and seek positive ways to overcome adverse situations
  • Show grade and division level mastery of individual skill and team concepts of sport
  • Cooperate with others and accept individual role in team concept
  • Learn to be positive and helpful to others

Sportsmanship

  • Demonstrate respect for teammates, opponents, officials, and adults
  • Graciously celebrate winning and display compassion for everyone in losing
  • Accept responsibility for actions and receive criticism with self-improvement to follow

Class Preparation

  • Come prepared and dressed properly for practices and games
  • Arrive on time for scheduled practices and games
  • Learn and articulate team systems and plays.
