Curtis School sits on 27 acres of gentle hills and grassy playing fields on Mulholland Drive in the Santa Monica Mountains.
The contemporary, Spanish-influenced architecture of the buildings blends with the beauty of the natural surroundings to create an inviting, open setting that accommodates the wide variety of activities and events that are a part of our programs.
Classrooms, an administration building, and a large multi-use pavilion for athletics and school performances were completed in 1996 as part of an $8.5 million capital campaign. In 2011, the school library was completely renovated, and a media center and outdoor reading patio were added. In 2013, all existing visual and performing arts facilities–including the auditorium–were renovated and upgraded and new classrooms were built for the Lower Elementary performing arts and Choir and Orchestra programs, as part of a $3.5 million capital campaign. At the beginning of the 2014-15 school year, construction was completed on a new, expanded playground. A second playground is currently being expanded and upgraded, and renovations are expected to be complete by the end of summer 2016.
